Manwood Singers and Snowdown Choir visit to Moutiers 2008

This year Manwood Singers, together with Snowdown Choir will be visiting Moutiers in France in May to sing with the choir that visited Sandwich in 2006. They will share 2 concerts over the weekend, arriving in Moutiers on the 2nd May with performances on the 3rd and 4th of May.

Itinerary:

Thurs 1st May:

Meet at Reylon car park next to Eurotunnel HQ in Folkestone and Depart 21.30 via Coach.

Friday 2nd May:

Arrive in Moutiers at 12.00 and after a brief stop at Hotel_Le_Terminus lunch will be taken at the Restaurant Le Terminus. After lunch there will be an official welcome in the Salle des Fetes at the Town Hall at 15.00 - 17.00 after which the evening is free to settle into your accommodation either at the hotel or with your hosts.

Saturday 3rd May:

Meet at the Hotel de Ville at 10.00 for two organised tours - the local cheese factory and the historic town centre. All guests welcome on the tours after which the afternoon is free to spend how you wish. At 18.00 there will be a concert rehearsal at Salle Maurice Calloch in La Chaudanne, a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The concert starts at 20.30 after which will be the evening meal at about 22.30.

Sunday 4th May:

Meet at the hotel at 11.00 for the outing by coach to the high mountains. Don't forget your coats as we can't predict the weather! Also, bring a picnic lunch - you can do a bit of shopping for this on Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning. The coaches will return directly to the concert hall in La Lechere at about 17.30 for the concert at 18.00 in the community hall. After the concert the party will return to the Hotel de Ville in Moutiers for the ceremonial evening meal with speeches, presentations and a "bit of a knees up"!

Monday 5th May:

09.00 - depart Moutiers. The coach will stop first to pick up at Hotel Le Terminus and then at the Hotel de Ville and will stop en-route at least once for a meal. 22.00 - arrive in Folkestone.

N.B. Non-singers have been asked to meet the cost of the tours and the two evening meals with a projected total cost of no more than 30 euros per head.
